【问7】 王老师好:刚刚结束新航道培训,就要奔赴考场。近日于家中做剑桥雅思真题,现有一处问题,即《剑桥6》Reading Test 2的29和31题不甚明了,望帮忙解答。多谢!
答:这两道题均属完成句子配对题型,主要考察信息点的对应。第29题的定位词主要是seventh-century Europe和count a certain number。在原文的对应句为第四段的最后两句, 即The average person in the seventh century in Europe was not as familiar with numbers as we are today. In fact, to qualify as a witness in a court of law a man had to be able to count to nine! 答案A“was necessary in order to fulfill a civic role 是第二句的转述。你的困惑可能是由于对a witness in a court of law和a civic role的同义转化没有搞清楚造成的。
       第31题的定位词是according to class of item。原文的对应句为第六段的前两句,即:Traces of the very first stages in the development of numeration can be seen in several living languages today. The numeration system of the Tsimshian language in British Columbia contains seven distinct sets of words for numbers according to the class of the item being counted…,所以答案应为G。有些同学可能会误选F, 错误在于原文并没有说明这种按物品分类来表达不同的数字的做法可以追溯到早期的一些欧洲语言中。
