Immense从词根上说是不能测量的意思，所以就是十分巨大。

　　在托福中对应的单词有great，huge，vast，

　　副词形式immensely 是非常的意思，对应的单词是extremely。

　　这个单词让我觉得真是长着一个“大众面”，觉得很多单词和它相似，让我想起一系列的单词。

　　首先是令我想起Commence（开始），有趣的是毕业典礼居然是commencement，毕业才是人生的开始啊，真是有深意。

　　接着我又想起Menace（威胁），某位大佬说这个单词是一个men在打牌时出了一张ace所以很有威胁。
