  100122NA Speaking Question1:

Where do you like to go shopping? Explain why. Include details and examples to support your response.

  sample answer

I find shopping in a supermarket very convenient and comsumer-friendly. Numerous kinds of commodities are available in a supermarket, which grants us abundant options that we cannot find in any grocery or roadside stores. What’s more, in supermarkets, customers are free to look at and pick up the things they like and are allowed to return goods to the shelves if they decide not take them after a second thought. This form of consumption avoids some embarrassment which is likely to take place in a department store between shop assistants and consumers. In a word, as a purchaser, I find shopping in a supermarket the easiest, the fastest and the most comfortable. So I prefer to go shopping in supermarkets rather than in other kinds of stores.

  如果问的是“go shopping for CLOTHES”,请参考以下答案:

My favorite place to shop for clothes is Vere Mode. First, I think they have really cool, good quality clothes in a funky style. Their section always varies, and I always find something good to buy there. The clothes there fit me the best as I have big hips and a small waist. Second, I think it is the best place for shoes. I used to have difficulties finding shoes for my feet shape and size. And I’ve been happy with the shoes that I’ve bought from there. They are always of good quality, and it is fun to drool over the shoes that I would love to buy. Thefefore, I love going shopping at Vere Mode.

  100122NA Speaking Question 2:

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? it is important to study the histry of our ancestors. Include details and examples to support your answer.

  sample answer:

I would say that it is very important that we learn the history of our ancestors.  History teaches us about the past, helps us understand the present and prepares us for the future. History offers us an opportunity to examine our mistakes and avoid repeating them. For example, If we know how Hitler got into power, we may prevent something like that from happening again.  Studying history may even be useful for people’s everyday life. For example, we can learn how people survived in the 1800 without having a television set, so we know how to not get bored just in case. Finally, learning history can help us develop a thoughtful and critical mind. People often hold different opinions on controversial historical events or historical figures. I was once asked to debate on whether the French ruler Nopolean should be remembered as a great military leader or as a brutal tyrant, and this was really a rewarding experience for enhancing my critical thinking.

  注:以下思路均可用来要学习历史,考生只需挑选其中的两条,稍加组织即可形成答案

  1. History helps us understand people and societies

How can we evaluate war if the nation is at peace—unless we use historical materials? How can we understand genius, the influence of technological innovation, or the role that beliefs play in shaping family life, if we don’t use what we know about experiences in the past?

  2. Helps us understand change and how the society we live in came to be.

Sometimes fairly recent history will suffice to explain a major development, but often we need to look further back to identify the causes of change. Only through studying history can we grasp how things change; only through history can we begin to comprehend the factors that cause change; and only through history can we understand what elements of an institution or a society persist despite change.

  3. Contributes to moral understanding

Studying the stories of individuals and situations in the past allows a student of history to test his or her own moral sense, to hone it against some of the real complexities individuals have faced in difficult settings. People who have weathered adversity not just in some work of fiction, but in real, historical circumstances can provide inspiration.

  4. History provides identity

evidence about how families, groups, institutions and whole countries were formed and about how they have evolved while retaining cohesion. For many Americans, studying the history of one’s own family is the most obvious use of history, for it provides facts about genealogy and (at a slightly more complex level) a basis for understanding how the family has interacted with larger historical change. Family identity is established and confirmed. Many institutions, businesses, communities, and social units, such as ethnic groups in the United States, use history for similar identity purposes.

  5. Studying History Is Essential for Good Citizenship

Sometimes advocates of citizenship history hope merely to promote national identity and loyalty through a history spiced by vivid stories and lessons in individual success and morality. But the importance of history for citizenship goes beyond this narrow goal and can even challenge it at some points.

  6. History also provides skills such as the ability to

assess evidence, assess conflicting interpretations and experience in assessing past examples of change
