　　An algebraic fraction is division of one polynomial by another. An algebraic fraction can be simplified by canceling the common factors between the numerator and denominator.

　　Example:

　　(x2-a2)/(x-a)=(x+a)*(x-a)/(x-a)=(x+a).

　　(x2-3x+2)/(x-1)=(x-2)(x-1)/(x-1)=(x-2).

　　Factor out both the numerator and denominator to find the common factors.
