  The following appeared in amemorandum from the planning department of an electric power company.

  Several recent surveys indicate that homeowners are increasingly eager to conserve energy. At the same time,manufacturers are now marketing many home appliances, such as refrigerators andair conditioners, that are almost twice as energy efficient as those sold adecade ago. Also, new technologies for better home insulation and passive solarheating are readily available to reduce the energy needed for home heating.Therefore, the total demand for electricity in our area will not increase—andmay decline slightly. Since our three electric generating plants in operationfor the past twenty years have always met our needs, construction of newgenerating plants will not be necessary.

  Write a response in which you examine thestated and/or unstated assumptions of the argument. Be sure to explain how theargument depends on these assumptions and what the implications are for theargument if the assumptions prove unwarranted.

  数学

  第一道题就是一道很长的应用题,比较大小。

  今天碰到的题都很偏,竟然考到了平均值周围某一区域可能出现的可能性,和某一数值的比较。出现在第一个section的前几道题里面。当时见了有点心慌。

  还有一个由14个边腰三角形组成的图形。给出了整个图形的面积56倍根号3(具体数字不确定),求整个大图形的边长。先求出每个小三角形的面积,根据小三角形面积求出小三角形边长,就可以求出大图形的边长了。
