面向中国医生的英国外交部及皇家医学院奖学金

The British Government will be offering two scholarships jointly sponsored by the Royal College of Physicians to enable mid-career Chinese doctors to receive further professional training in an appropriate National Health Service clinical department in the UK. Full scholarship will be offered for a period of not more than one year. The scholarship will cover all costs in Britain, including tuition fees; living expenses and international air travel to the UK. Study arrangements will be made by the British Council, which is known as the Cultural and Education Section, British Embassy in China. The Council administers the programme on behalf of the British Government and the Royal College of Physicians. Extensions to the award will not be granted.

Professional Criteria for Application:

　·Candidates should have a minimum Ph.D. or MD Degree from one of the following medical schools:

　　Beijing Union Medical College

　　Beijing Medical University

　　Shanghai Medical University

　　West China Medical College Chengdu

　　Sun Yat Sen Medical College Guangzhou

　　Tong Ji Medical College Wuhan

　　Norman Bethune Medical College Jilin

　　Shandong Medical College Ji Nan

　　China Medical University Shenyang

　　Xi’an Medical University Xi’an

　　Hunan Medical College Changsha

　　Shanghai Second Medical University

　　·Candidates should be working in any branch of internal medicine or its subspecialties but not paediatrics (儿科).

　　Specialities covered include:

　　Aviation and Occupational Medicine

　　Blood Transfusion输血

　　Cardiology心内

　　Endocrinology including Diabetes内分泌，糖尿病

　　Dermatology皮肤

　　Gastroenterology胃肠

　　General Medicine (but not general practice/family medicine)普内

　　Genito-urinary Medicine/Venereology生殖，泌尿、性病学

　　Geriatric Medicine老年医学

　　Haematology血液

　　·Candidates must be aged between 30 and 45 on 1 January 2002. They should have had a minimum of four years clinical training either after their degree or as part of their degree.

　　·Candidates would have to meet the English language requirement - minimum of 7.0 in all four components of the IELTS Academic module test, including speaking, writing, reading and listening.
