【雅思口语示例】An important choice

"To be or not to be is a question", as shown in Hamlet by Shakespeare. Anyone could not have made any choices in their lifetime, and neither could I.

The moment when I graduated from my university, my parents asked me whether to work or go on studying in a foreign country as some of my schoolmates did. They felt if I worked immediately after graduation I could not have an advantageous start point, and so did I. But in the meanwhile, they were afraid of my safety and unexpected oversea life, although I insisted I could adapt myself to a new environment as soon as possible and keep myself safe.

Ultimately, I determined to go on studying in the UK, and we family made a consensus. Mind you, I thought I was rational when I made the decision. As you might have known, I expected to have a remarkable achievement in jobs and a relatively high point was possibly superiority. To be awarded a high qualification was undoubtedly optimal way to achieve this. Afterward, when I graduated from a university in the UK, an international company gave me an offer for the sake of the qualification.

Even if I made such a decision, virtually I felt somewhat contradicted. I would have felt like this if I had a supernatural ability to predict future. I worried if I failed in the future course, how could face my family, who had a great expectation to me.
