媒体广告类
1) Advertising encourages consumers to buy in quantity rather than in quality. Do you agree or disagree?
2) In some countries, advertisers increase the amount of advertising which try to persuade children to buy snacks, toys, and other goods. Parents object to such pressure on children. But some advertisers claim that there is useful information in these advertisements.Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Every surface that could possibly have an ad slapped on it -- clothing, buses, taxis, myriad walls and billboards, even the snow you ski on -- now hawks something.
In such an information society of high pressure, fierce competition and ever-increasing living pace, it is impossible for consumers to check the quality of each piece of product in person. The only solution is to turn to advertisements, namely they have become dependent on the advertisements when purchasing.
On the other hand, producers begin to find a business secret, i.e., the profits brought by the investment on advertisements are much more than the perfection of the quality. As a result, people are persuaded by splendid advertisements to buy more while it is impossible for the consumers to be informed of the reality of the quality.
In modern advertisements, it is not uncommon that some famous social elite’s, particularly entertainment and sports super stars, help to promote products or services involved. Large amount of fans empty their wallets because of their fascination about their role models rather than real needs. Producers understand that these super stars could bring extra profits, and a large proportion of budget has been disbursed. As a result, what consumers get is the result of recommendation from their stars rather than the high quality production.
