SAT写作考试的时间是25分钟，按照给出的题目作文，题目包括了Prompt和Assignment两个部分。若想拿到高分，词数一般要在400以上。作文会由两个评审批阅，除空白和跑题外，每个评审的赋分范围是1-6分，作文总分为2-12分。
