2. What isthe weather like in your hometown in the winter?

My hometown is located in southern China, so thetemperatures are quite mild in the winter. It gets cold, but it’s definitelynot as freezing as up north like in Beijing or Harbin. In January thetemperatures vary around 15 degrees. It could be very nice on a sunny day, butit could be a bit gloomy when it rains.it never snows in my hometown, but it does a bit furtheraway, in some of the mountains in Fujian Province.

3. Do youlike the rain?

Not at all!I hate it when it rains. Especially in the winter, whenit’s cold and wet, I think it’s the worst weather ever. In addition, in thecity, when it rains, the streets get dirty from the dirt and the pollution. Thebottom of my trousers always get dirty. I can’t stand it. You know, in Fuzhou,usually, when it rains, it’s not a little drizzle; it usually rains like catsand dogs(=very hard).Believe me, it’s not that pleasant(=not so pleasant=no so nice).

Well, I don’t mind it usually. I think that rainy dayscan be romantic and peaceful. Ilike it when it rains on the weekend, and I can stay inbed. I like the sound of the rain falling. It’s very relaxing, especially whenyou are under a warm blanket on a cold winter day!

4. Haveyou ever seen snow before?

You bet!For sure I come from northern China, and, you know, weget lots of snowup there. Last winter for Spring Festival, we had like 40or 50 centimeters just outside the door. Snow is fun at first: it’s so clean,and it makes everything so peaceful. But after a few days, it gets dirty andquite annoying when we have to shovel the pathway every day and drive veryslowly on the roads. It’s inconvenient.

5. Howdoes the weather influence your life?Well, the weatherinfluences my habits.For example, I can only play basketball when

the weather allows it. I don’t especially like to go outwhen it’s raining, or when it’s verycold outside. In my hometown, it gets boiling hot in thesummer, like around 40 degrees.When it’sthat hot(= so hot), you can’t spend any time outside. In addition, the weather alsoinfluences my mood. When it’s raining, I feel a bit lazy. But whenever the skyis very blue, it gives me energy.
